Where are we headed?
Refresh Barista and Wellness Hub opened its doors in early December 2024, offering a unique blend of barista services and wellness treatments. What makes us unique is that all the massage therapists and baristas working in Refresh are visually impaired.
The centre provides valuable practical experience for visually impaired students while offering high-quality services to the public.
The visually impaired barista and massage students are actively engaged in on-the-job training, gaining essential skills in barista and wellness services. This enables us to bring massage services to our clients at very competitive prices in the student range of massage services.
The centre also employs two highly skilled visually impaired massage therapists and a qualified visually impaired barista, ensuring top-notch service delivery.
The goal of Refresh is also to become a part of the local community, fostering inclusivity and promoting awareness of the capabilities of visually impaired individuals.
For the future we hope to continue to develop comprehensive training programs for students, focusing on both technical skills and customer service.

Front Of Houses
Anneline and Eloize are our dynamic Front of House ladies, keeping everything running smoothly with their friendly service and efficient organization. They greet you with a smile, ensure the cafe and massage areas are ready, and prepare delicious toasties and light meals that complement the relaxing atmosphere of our space. Their warmth makes sure your visit is always a pleasant experience.
Massage team – Students
Our massage students, all visually impaired and blind, are on a journey to mastering the art of therapeutic massage. Each student brings a unique touch and commitment to learning, ensuring that every massage treatment is as soothing and relaxing as possible. Under the guidance of an experienced mentor, they are cultivating the skills that will make you relax with every touch.
Rinette von mollendorf- Massage therapist
Rinette is an incredibly skilled massage therapist who has transformed her passion for healing into a rewarding career. As a visually impaired professional, Rinette brings an intuitive and caring touch to every massage treatment. Her dedication and expertise help her clients relax, recharge, and feel their best, making her a valued part of our team.
Joseph Matheatau – Barista
Joseph Matheatau is our expert barista trainer who has a wealth of knowledge and experience in making exceptional coffee. A true inspiration, Joseph, who is blind, believes in empowering his team and training them to brew with precision, passion, and purpose. With his guidance, our baristas are given the tools and skills to shine behind the counter.
